The Shirts Save A Life
Art Statement-
For my art statment i am decorating/designing a shirt and i am writing the name of the oprginization on the front and the back of the shirt. On the front of the shirt it is going to say Healing notes and on the back it is going to say Ronald Mcdonald House. These 2 orginizations help families that have kids in the hospital that have either cancer or are just sick and trying to recover. I think that this is a great thing to do becasue it helps people and you have a satiisfied heart at the end of the day.
Resilence Essay-
Do you enjoy helping people? Well, the Ronald McDonald House and my mom loved to help people.The Ronald McDnoald house lets families live at the house if their child is in the hospital for a long period of time. My mom helpds out at the Ronald McDonald house once a month.
My mother is recilient because little by little people can chhange the world and my mom is attempting to help out and be a little part of that change.My mom goes to the Ronald McDonald House the first friday of every month and brings them dinner. My mom has hes own non-profit organazition. What she does is she gets music therapists to work with children that have cancer and otehr illneses in several different hospitals. Thid helps to accelerate the healing process and createe a happier enviromnet while being hospitalized. "Studies show that music helps reduce stress, regulate heart rate and respiration, and help build the immune system," says one certidfied music therapist. "My mom helps others to be resilient and I hope to do that, too."
The Ronald McDonald House has helped thousands of families by providing a home-awayfrom-home during their child's medical treatment for over 25 years. This is a very unique and resilient organization helping provide a happier and more stable enviromnet for families while away from their families and home.
I connect to the organization and to my mom because I felt that I do try to hlep people and as the years go by I do more and more. I think that my mom has inspired me to be a better person and to do more for other people and not just myself. I think that the Ronald McDonald hHouse is a great place and it makes me happy to be able to help out more with my mom.
I am going to try to keep my mom's non-profit going and help out as mushc as I can as the years go on. I think that everybody can be apart of something great and everybody can be resilient into his or her own special way and create their own great legacy.

Short story!!!!
Title: The stormy Sheep

Writing process: I just started writing off the top of my head and in my journal and it ended up being about 10 pages long. I had about 3 different drafts and then when i typed up my final writing it was only 3 pages long!!!!
Publishing process: I am going to go to Staples to make a final copy and publish it there!!!!

Feature article Reflection
Project Purpose:
To understand the difference between Cause/Effect Relationships and Correlations. To understand how and why major events in history are connected and intertwined (think yarn activity!). To research a major event from U.S. history in order to understand why it is significant and how it relates to other major events. To understand features of a feature article and podcast and to be able to create a feature article or podcast about your major event in history.
Project Requirements:
To present the 5Ws of your major event to the class. To write/peer edit/revise a feature article or podcast. To have at least three drafts in your Writing Portfolio. To present a polished version of your feature article or podcast on Media Night, as well as posting it online to our Team Featurecast from the Past web page (made by James).
Specific Concepts Learned:
1. Well the Kennedy curse was one of the things that i learned about. Basically the Kennedy curse is that every body with the last name Kennedy had some thing tragic happen to them. For example Jacqueline Kennedy had a stillborn baby, she had a baby die 2 day later after it was born, and she witnessed her husband getting assassinated.
2. Another thing i learned about was that Jacqueline Kennedy was a big part of JFK success. She helped JFK get votes and she helped him win the election to be President. And she redecorated the white house.
Challenges:
1. I had a hard time finding enough information about Jacqueline because there was so much info about JFK.
Real World Significance:
1. Well Jacqueline redecorated the white house and people today live in the white house. So i thought that was pretty cool.

Querencia Clipboard
One of our projects was the Querencia Clipboard. We had to write about someone, something, or a place that makes us feel warm inside and safe. Basically on the back side of the clip board we had to have a half page report and on the front side we had to put pictures of the thing we wrote about.
My Quuerencia:
My Querencia is my cousin Mikal Marquez, she is 13 and we are only 5 months apart. When I am around Mikal i am able to feel safe and comfortable. I can tell her just about every thing. we have always lived very close by each other so we have grown up together, we basically are sisters.
When we were little we either liver together or very close like i said. We both grow up in Texas. I remember living i this HUGE house with her when we were little and back then we even got along
When i am angry i either call her or i go over to her house(seeign that she lives right across the street). I tell her everything that is wrong and after that i feel like a giant wieght had just been lifted off my chest.
When i am happy or bored i go over to her house. I feel so comfortablle around her I can do anything and not feel stupid. We just listen to our ipods together or go swimming, we can do anything together and make it fun.
Mikal is a very impotant to me and i love her so much. I couldnt ever imagine life with out her. We have such great memories together, even though we do fight some times and it is extremely hard when we fight we always move on sooner or later.
